Conference and hanging out at the hospital
I hope you all enjoyed Conference weekend. I want to say it was awesome but unfortunately, I was pretty out of it and slept through most of it. I have since tried to repent and have listened to Saturday morning and afternoon and am working on Saturday night. What I have listed however is amazing. So far what I have gained is the importance of the Savior's Atonement and how we have an individual responsibility to connect to the Savior in a very intimate and deep way. He is going to ca,, our name someday and we need to be ready to answer that we have done all that we can. Another concept is that we want to be on the right hand of the Lord when he calls for us.
Besides Conference, the past few days have been uneventful. I have been in the hospital just waiting to get set up on homecare again. My condition is such that I can go back on home care but unfortunately, they don’t onboard patients over the weekend, so I had to sit around all weekend even though health-wise I was ready, Then I was scheduled to be discharged on Monday and then they discovered that the department that makes the medication was closed for cleaning so I had to wait another day. Needless to say, I am ready to be home. One advantage has been that they did my lumbar puncture while I was here so at least we didn't have to drive all the way back on a separate day. Having to stay another day yielded something unexpected. They have two restaurants at Huntsman one is called the Bistro and the other The Point. We decided to go to the point for lunch as it is a nicer restaurant and we felt like we wanted something nice. While we were sitting there enjoying our meal a man approached me and looked at me and smiled. It was a little odd and it seemed as if he expected me to know who he was. After a moment I said how are you and he said he was good and that he was Peter Huntsman and he liked to talk to people like me, I assume it was because I was being treated for cancer. He then proceeded to tell me that one of his dad's goals in building Huntsmans was that people would have nice food to eat and a nice restaurant to go to. I told him how much we appreciated the food and having such a nice place to eat. We finished talking and he walked away and got his lunch. What's cool is he is not just someone at Huntsman he is the founder's son and also the President and CEO plus the chairman of the board. He is not just someone at Huntsman, he is "The Guy" when it comes to Huntsman and based on our brief interaction and the fact that he would stop and take some time to visit with us he is following in his father's footsteps. So it was pretty cool.
I love the Savior and I hope that I can come to that day and he can say "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord, "
I have more to say but my head is hurting right now so stay tuned.
