Having Fun for Posterity

How much fun we are having! Though things are difficult, we are having a ball. Our children discovered a great service Family Search has for recording details of our lives for posterity.  At the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Family Search centers you can go into a recording studio and record audio and video for your posterity. You don't have to go in cold it has prompts for some ideas for what to record and it is very simple to use.

Once in a studio large enough to accommodate several people, you sit at a touch screen, click on a prompt, and start recording. There's a mic in the center of the room and a camera with a view of the entire room that are employed. You record in five-minute segments that when completed are automatically uploaded to the web. The video is sent to you in an email link and the audio is added to the Family Search website. Family Search is free to use and anyone with an account can access the recordings. One note you don't have to use the prompts you can answer your own questions.

We are just getting started but we plan to record things like how we met, what dating was like, and fun and difficult times with the family. We are excited that we have such a great tool to use. Not all centers have the same services but even if you don't record they have many more resources to research your family history and  you can learn more about them,

Alma 36:3-4
