Having Fun for Posterity
Once in a studio large enough to accommodate several people, you sit at a touch screen, click on a prompt, and start recording. There's a mic in the center of the room and a camera with a view of the entire room that are employed. You record in five-minute segments that when completed are automatically uploaded to the web. The video is sent to you in an email link and the audio is added to the Family Search website. Family Search is free to use and anyone with an account can access the recordings. One note you don't have to use the prompts you can answer your own questions.
We are just getting started but we plan to record things like how we met, what dating was like, and fun and difficult times with the family. We are excited that we have such a great tool to use. You can find a center near you by visiting https://locations.familysearch.org/en/search. There are centers in many locations. Not all centers have the same services but even if you don't record they have many more resources to research your family history and you can learn more about them,
Again even in our trails, we can find joy.
Alma 36:3-4
"And now, O my son Helaman, behold, thou art in thy youth, and therefore, I beseech of thee that thou wilt hear my words and learn of me; for I do know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day.
And I would not that ye think that I know of myself—not of the temporal but of the spiritual, not of the carnal mind but of God."
Cool! Let us know one of the times you and maybe we can make a recording with you.
